The intent of the book is to provide easy, inexpensive, and healthy meal options for the clueless cook or college student with few cooking options (because, you know, you can only have a microwave and a refrigerator in a dorm room).
What this book does well is to put perspective on the actual cost of a meal. The edition I own is a little out of date so the prices are a little off, but the intent remains: you don’t need to spend a lot of money to eat well.
This is an especially good book for individuals with limited skill and knowledge for cooking/baking, as well as those who are experienced but have limited access to cooking appliances.
The book can be purchased at a number of online retailers, but with a student Amazon Prime membership, Amazon is the best bet for most: $5 A Meal College Cookbook.
